Run for Xtreme Everest at the ISEH annual event

NEWS
7th Jun 2017

It is once again that time of year in the office, where all from the Xtreme Everest team dust off our running shoes and start searching for the blister patches at the back of the cupboard all in aid of the ISEH 5k & 10k.

Now in its fifth year the ISEH 5k & 10k is held in the iconic surroundings of London’s Regents Park. Runners can pick from either a 5k or 10k route both of which are flat and suitable for runners of all ages. Both runs are chipped timed and all finishers, no matter where you come, are given a special ISEH medal.

As well as the above routes, the ISEH is offering a 2.5k run which is suitable for children or those new to running. As well as the medals there is the opportunity to win a full fitness CPET test.

Information on how to book onto any of the above runs can be found on the dedicated event page

If you are thinking about joining the ISEH for their event, why not think about running on behalf of Xtreme Everest.

Xtreme Everest is a not for profit organisation supported by a number of sponsors, currently in the process of applying for charitable status in its own right. It costs on average £3,000 a day to care for a critically ill patient in intensive care in the UK. With costs this high, it is hard for the individual NHS organisations to find additional money to support research into improving care. Therefore, the Xtreme Everest research team spend a significant amount of time seeking funding support from companies, organisations and individuals to carry out research.

Xtreme Everest spends this money on a variety of research tasks and research support including:

  • sample processing and storage
  • purchasing, or leasing, and maintenance of equipment
  • analysis of data
  • and salaries

Xtreme Everest exists because of the amazing support it receives from sponsors, investigators, subjects, volunteers, and friends. If you would like to run the ISEH run (or any other run) on our behalf, please get in touch with our events team who can help you set up your fundraising page.
